Heavy rain, strong to severe storms possible Friday night, Saturday

Friday was a wet and stormy day across central and south Alabama. Many locations received inches of rain. A few storms were severe and even tornadic across far southern Alabama during the afternoon. We then had a lull in rain and storms during the evening. However, additional storms develop and move through our area late Friday night into Saturday morning. A few storms could be severe.

Damaging wind and large hail are the main hazards. However, a couple tornadoes cannot be ruled out. Additional storms affect our area Saturday afternoon and evening. The primary hazards from these storms are damaging wind and hail. Storms diminish and depart by late Friday evening. Sunshine and dry weather returns Sunday.

Next week begins mainly dry with sunshine. Temperatures look very warm, with highs in the upper 80s. Stray showers appear possible starting Wednesday. However, rain chances look insignificant next week. Meanwhile, temperatures remain very warm with highs in the upper 80s, perhaps low 90s. The rain chance looks low to start next weekend too.
