Opelika man charged with possession of child porn

An Opelika man has been charged with possession of child pornography.

Lee County Sheriff Jay Jones tells Action 8 News that on May 16, their office received information about possible voyeurism and child pornography.

Investigators say they were able to obtain to enough evidence to generate a search warrant for a home in the 700 block of Rosalind Street in Opelika where 37-year-old Robert Cameron Hansbargar was taken into custody.

Multiple electronic devices were recovered from the home, including a cell phone.

Investigators say they located multiple images from his phone depicting juvenile females that appeared to be under the age of 18.

Hansbargar was arrested and charged with 10 counts of Possession of Child Pornography. Officials say more charges are expected.

He is currently in the Lee County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
