Imagination Library growing success at Greenville Butler County Library

The Greenville Butler County Public Library is doing its part to help eradicate reading literacy across the state. Summer is one of the busiest times at the Greenville Butler County Library. “We have programs throughout the week we have toddler Tuessdays at 10 o’clock that is for ages 5 and under we also have music and movement on Thursdays at 10 o’clock that is also for children 5 and under, says Kevin Pearcey, Greenville Butler County Library Director.

In addition to on sight activities the library offers Dolly Parton’s Imagination library which seeks to bring literacy to every child worldwide. With the help of The River Region United Way nearly every county in the state of Alabama is eligible to offer the imagination library to its citizens bridging the gap in literacy. The Imagination Library mails free books to families with children ages 0 to 5 years old each month despite that family’s income.
