Vacant Montgomery bank building becomes home to The Banc luxury apartments
A highly-visible vacant bank building in Montgomery has been transformed into luxury apartments.
The former Colonial Bank building on South Perry Street that later became BB&T overlooks Interstate 85 and downtown. It will soon open as The Banc.
Action 8 News got a sneak peek of the 31-unit building. It has been completely renovated since it was purchased in 2020.
“We had to completely get it down to concrete and steel, so it’s all-new electrical, all-new plumbing, all-new HVAC, all-new insulation, walls, everything. It’s brand spanking new,” owner Sean Coyle said.
“I do know that there are a few other luxury apartments here in the area, but I think that this is kind of one-of-a-kind. It’s got nicer amenities, our lighting is great here, these big huge open windows, you can see out to the interstate, you can see downtown,” Priscilla Sullivan of Emerald Enterprise said.
“This building, where it’s sitting was a billboard for us because we didn’t have to do nowhere near the advertisement because as you can see, many cars pass this building on the interstate,” contractor Mark Freeman said.
The Banc is already pre-leasing with move-in dates of June 15-16. Rentals are listed from $995 to $1,850 per month.
