90 Degree Heat Along With Scattered Showers And Storms

The unofficial start to summer is approaching and we’re already feeling the heat build across the region.   Temps will continue to climb and we should see several days with 90 degree heat over the long holiday weekend.  Also, moisture will be increasing and the chance for scattered showers will return.

In the meantime, high pressure has kept us mainly rain free but this weather feature will be releasing its grip and that will allow showers/storms to develop.  Rain chances will be creeping up but we definitely don’t see anything close to a washout.  A boundary will slip into the region and we could see isolated showers or storms Friday afternoon. Isolated showers or t-storms will be possible over the weekend.  Temps will continue to hover around 90 degrees for highs and upper 60s to lower 70s for overnight lows.

Looks like a frontal boundary will be approaching the region Monday.  This will lead to increased coverage of showers and storms on Memorial Day.  Clouds and rain activity would also impact temps and that could help knock the heat down a bit.  The frontal system will push through and we will get a break in the heat behind the boundary. We expect temps to drop in the mid 80s for highs and overnight lows fall into the lower 60s most of next week.
