Millbrook holds ceremony to remember Memorial Day

People paused in Millbrook on Friday to remember Memorial Day.

A ceremony to honor fallen servicemen and women was held at Memorial Park, which was established by the Millbrook Men’s Club.

The observance included a missing man table and a wreath-laying as Taps was performed.

The ceremony is held on the Friday before Memorial Day.

“We started this on a Friday, and it worked out so much better for everybody because Memorial Day is on that Monday, and that’s the last really day of that weekend for the holiday and it puts a lot of people in a bind they go out of town and they don’t get to events like this, so we try to schedule these events where they can get to them,” Millbrook Mayor Al Kelley told Action 8 News.
