Memorial Day 2024: Ceremony in Prattville

The City of Prattville, along with local American Legion and VFW posts, held a wreath-laying ceremony in honor of Memorial Day.

The ceremony took place outside of the Autauga County Courthouse. There was also a table display for all Prisoners of War and those Missing in Action.

“This day is one that we need to remember everyone, whether it was our early patriots from the 1700s and so forth, all the way to today. Because the tyranny and everything else that is out there, it’s still there. It comes in different shapes and fashions and we need to have a strong military because there is peace through strength,” Prattville Mayor Bill Gillespie, Jr. said.
