ACTION 8 UPDATE: Police make arrest in Montgomery homicide
ACTION 8 UPDATE: Montgomery police say they have made an arrest in a homicide from last week.
Police say they have charged 42-year-old Kelvin Surls of Montgomery with murder and attempted murder.
He was identified as the suspect in the May 23 shooting death of 23-year-old Khiana Humphrey of Montgomery.
As Action 8 News has reported, Humphrey was shot and killed in the 600 block of Iris Lane. Another woman was injured.
He was taken into custody today by MPD SWAT and the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force and placed in the Montgomery County Detention Facility under no bond.
