Periods Of Showers & Storms Over The Upcoming Weekend

A ridge of high pressure continues to be the main weather feature over the deep south going into the latter half of the week.  The ridge will gradually move eastward and that will develop a southeasterly wind flow over the area.  Moisture will be increasing and we’re expecting rain chances to go up over the weekend.  A couple of waves will move west to east across the state as well.  Periods of showers and storms are likely.

There’s a weakening wave heading towards the area overnight into Thursday.  We expect a mostly cloudy sky along with a few showers Thursday.  The shower activity will have an impact on temps and we’re only managing upper 70s to lower 80s Thursday afternoon.

Looks like we will be seeing more scattered showers and storms over the upcoming weekend. The ridge of high pressure will move farther east of us and that will allow more  waves to work through the state.   As a result, scattered showers and storms will be possible each day. Temps will still manage the mid to upper 80s for highs.
