ACTION 8 UPDATE: The body of 30-year-old Quanisha Davis of Alexander City has been found in Dadeville, and an arrest has been made in her death.

As Action 8 News has reported, Davis was reported missing last Friday after her family hadn’t seen her since earlier this month.

The Alexander City and Dadeville police departments and Tallapoosa County Sheriff’s Office held a news conference this afternoon to discuss the discovery of her body.

They say her body was discovered in some woods off Herren Street in Dadeville at about 7:45 this morning. They would not say how she may have been killed or how long her body might have been in that location.

Davis’ SUV had been found last night in woods on North Loop Road in Dadeville. They would not say why her vehicle and her body were in two separate locations.

Davis’ body has been sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for an autopsy.

Tallapoosa County Sheriff Jimmy Abbett said that this morning at around 11AM, a suspect, 55-year-old Robert Lee Young of Dadeville, was arrested and charged with murder. They had apparently been in a dating relationship.

Young is being held in the county jail as he awaits a bond hearing. Abbett says he was taken into custody without incident.
