More sunshine Friday, chances for rain return this weekend
Thursday was mainly cloudy for many locations in central and south Alabama. Cloud-cover certainly kept temperatures cooler, with highs shy of 80° for some. There was some light rain within the clouds during the day. However, most of that was gone by Thursday evening. Thursday night looks mainly dry with a partly cloudy sky and lows in the low to mid 60s.
More sunshine fills the sky Friday. Afternoon temperatures look much warmer as a result, with highs near 90°. That’s seasonable for the last day of May in our area. Rain and some storms may arrive in west Alabama Friday night. It may continue into Saturday morning for the rest of us. If we get fairly widespread rain Saturday morning, it may suppress rain during the afternoon. Temperatures remain cooler, with highs in the mid 80s.
