Dallas Co. School Superintendent reinstated following suspension
From the West Alabama Newsroom–
The Dallas County School Board has reinstated superintendent Anthony Sampson — after placing him on paid leave for about a month.
Sampson was suspended for personnel reasons.
The board voted to reinstate Sampson at a special called meeting Wednesday night — following an internal investigation.
Sampson says he’s ready to get back to work — improving academic outcomes — for students and schools in the district.
“Super excited about the progress that we’ve seen at Keith High School. So the Bears are proud and excited to not be a failing school,” said Sampson.
“And also at Southside High School, who was the beneficiary of the Top 25 Most Improved Schools within the state of Alabama.”
It’s the first time in several years that the district has not had a high school on the failing schools list.
