June begins with higher chances for rain Saturday and Sunday
Friday was fairly sunny in many locations, at least early in the day. Clouds increased during the afternoon. A few showers and storms drifted into far south Alabama. They may kick off additional isolated showers or storms Friday evening. At the same time, an area of more widespread rain and embedded storms across Mississippi may drift east into west Alabama.
Rain coverage increases after midnight through Saturday morning. Much of Saturday’s showers and storms could be during the morning. Rain could be heavy at times. The afternoon may trend drier, but some showers or storms remain possible. Clouds and rain keep temperatures much cooler, with highs of 80° or less in many locations.
