MPD: Child critically injured in overnight shooting

Montgomery police are investigating a shooting that critically injured a child.

Police and fire medics were called around 2:29 a.m. Friday to the 4100 block of Keating Drive on a person shot. Keating Drive is just off Lower Wetumpka Road near the Montgomery Zoo.

Once they arrived, they found a juvenile female victim with a life-threatening gunshot wound. The unidentified victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

No word on any suspects at this time.
