Man killed in Covington County wreck

A man has been killed in two-vehicle crash in Covington County.

Alabama State Troopers say 25-year-old Cristian Alexander Mena Perlera of Aurora, Colorado, was killed when the car he was driving collided head-on with an SUV driven 29-year-old Saikiran Vemula of Fort Walton, Florida. Perlera was pronounced deceased at the scene. Vemula was injured and taken to Andalusia Health for treatment.

Investigators say the wreck happened at about 8:40PM Monday, May 27, on Alabama 137, approximately one mile north of the Florida state line, in Covington County.
