Montgomery police say they have made an arrest in a burglary and theft investigation at Country Club Shopping Center.

The shopping center, in the 1700 block of Carter Hill Road, is the well-known home of Martin’s Restaurant, Winn-Dixie and several other businesses.

Maj. Saba Coleman told Action 8 News that at about 1:47AM today, officers were called to the shopping center to investigate a burglary. Contact was made with several complainants, who told officers that a burglary occurred and property was taken.

Police have charged 19-year-old Traychristion Sankey of Montgomery, with four counts of third-degree burglary and one count of second-degree theft of property.

Photos shared on social media show broken glass at the businesses. The shopping center is not far away from The Locker Room and Baker’s Framing and Art Supplies, which were recently the targets of burglars, as Action 8 News has reported.

Sankey was taken into custody near the scene and placed in the Montgomery County Detention Facility.

Court records show Sankey was out on bond for a 3rd degree burglary charge after he broke into the Dollar Tree at 414 South Boulevard on April 8 with the intent to commit a crime.  Judge Tiffany McCord has since revoked his bond.
