Scattered showers/storms Sunday evening/night; Drier Monday
Sunday was mainly dry, mainly sunny, and hot. Afternoon temperatures soared into the mid 90s in many locations. Humidity was a bit higher than Saturday. Heat indices were close to 100° during the mid to late afternoon. A severe thunderstorm watch was issued for central Alabama Sunday evening. However, that was cancelled early. Although, scattered showers or storms remain possible Sunday night.
By Monday morning, our area should be mainly dry. However, the day may begin with a mostly cloudy sky. Monday afternoon looks partly cloudy, and not as hot with high temperatures in the upper 80s. Humidity falls Monday afternoon as winds turn to the north-northwest. Monday night lows fall into the 60s. Tuesday looks like a very nice June day, with sunshine, low humidity, and high temperatures in the 80s.
Our area remains mainly dry this week, with low chances for rain. Humidity rises late in the week. Temperatures turn warmer Wednesday through Friday, with highs in the low 90s. Lows only fall into the low 70s each night. Chances for rain increase next weekend. However, father’s day weekend may not be a washout. Although, at least isolated to widely scattered daytime showers or storms appear possible.
