ACTION 8 UPDATE: 12-year-old girl shot in Montgomery dies of injuries
ACTION 8 UPDATE: A 12-year-old girl who was shot in Montgomery has died of her injuries, prompting police to launch a homicide investigation.
As Action 8 News has reported, the shooting happened at about 2:29AM on Friday, May 31, in the 4100 block of Keating Drive. That is just off Lower Wetumpka Road near the Montgomery Zoo.
Police say the girl was taken to a Montgomery hospital, but was transferred to a hospital in Birmingham for treatment. She died on Friday, June 7.
Police say there is no other information about the case.
