ACTION 8 UPDATE: Montgomery police make two arrests in Ann Street murder

ACTION 8 UPDATE: Montgomery police have charged two men with murder in a fatal shooting on Ann Street.

Police say they’ve charged 19-year-old Jeremiah Jackson of Montgomery and 19-year-old Jayden Perry of Prattville with killing 26-year-old Johnny Butler, Jr., of Montgomery.

As Action 8 News has reported, Butler was shot at around 11:30PM on the night of May 29. The shooting happened in the 1000 block of Ann Street, which is just off Interstate 85 near Chick-fil-A, the Walmart Supercenter and various gas stations.

Police say two other men were injured. One man suffered a life-threatening gunshot wound and the other man had a non-life threatening gunshot wound. They were both taken to a hospital for treatment.

Police say the two suspects were taken into custody today by MPD SWAT and  the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force. They were placed  in the Montgomery County Detention Facility under no bond. 

No other information has been released.
