Hotter afternoon temperatures with no rain Friday and Saturday

Thursday was another quiet June day across central and south Alabama. The sky was mostly sunny, and temperatures were a bit hotter than earlier this week. High temperatures were in the low 90s. A stray shower or two may form Thursday evening through sunset. However, 99% of our area remains dry. Thursday night looks mainly clear and warm with lows in the low 70s.

Afternoon heat increases Friday and Saturday. Temperatures peak in the mid 90s Friday and perhaps upper 90s Saturday. Heat indices approach 100° Friday and 105° Saturday. Both days look mostly sunny, with a near-zero chance for a cooling shower. Isolated showers or storms appear possible Father’s Day afternoon. The heat may back down a bit, with high temperatures in the mid 90s.

Next week looks more reasonably hot for mid-June. Temperatures peak in the low 90s most days. Isolated showers or storms dot our area Monday afternoon. However, the rest of the week looks mainly dry, with only a 10% chance for rain or so Tuesday through Friday.
