Samkee Company puts first American factory in Tuskegee
The city of Tuskegee welcomed their first auto parts manufacturing company to the area.
Samkee Company, which is a South Korean company, invested $158 million in the manufacturing plant in Tuskegee to specialize in making parts for car engines, transmissions, and electric vehicles. They will be a Tier 1 supplier for Hyundai, Kia, and Ford.
This is Samkee’s first factory in the U.S.
In honor of this historic partnership, Tuskegee renamed the road the plant is on from Mizell Road to Samkee Parkway.
Samkee America expects to generate over 170 jobs across Macon County.
