Valley Grande City Council member dies in fire

A Valley Grande City Council member has died in a fire.

Councilman Bruce Hughes died at a hunting camp last week. He was inside his camper when it caught fire. He was unable to get out.

A memorial service will be held Friday at 6PM at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home in Selma. It is located at 2900 Citizens Parkway.

Hughes was 71.

Valley Grande is a town with about 4,000 residents in Dallas County near Selma.
