9 shot, 4 others injured in mass shooting in Montgomery

Montgomery police are investigating a mass shooting overnight where 9 people were shot and 4 others were injured.

Officials say it happened around 1:46 a.m. in the area of North Pass Road and Alabama River Parkway.

Once officers and fire medics arrived, they found an adult female and one juvenile male with non-life threatening gunshot wounds.

Later, 3 adult males, 2 adult females and 2 juvenile males arrived at a local hospital in a private vehicle with non-life threatening gunshot wounds.

City officials also say as they were fleeing the scene, one adult female and two adult males sustained non-life threatening injuries from a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision. Additionally, one adult female with minor injuries from broken glass self-reported to the emergency room for treatment.

“This morning, more than 300 rounds were fired at a crowded party in the North Pass area,” said Montgomery Mayor Steven L. Reed. “Nine were wounded, and at least four more were injured in the chaos that followed. Officers from the Montgomery Police Department, ATF, and FBI are currently interviewing witnesses and suspects. We are working tirelessly to identify those involved, and we urge anyone with information to come forward to help us put a stop to this sort of senseless, violent activity.”

No word on any suspects at this time.
