Suspect arrested in shooting death of woman on Troy Highway

Montgomery police have arrested a suspect in a shooting that left one woman dead.

Maj. Saba Coleman says 41-year-old Kawanda McDade, of Montgomery, has been charged in the fatal shooting that happened around 5:11 p.m. Sunday in the 4000 block of Troy Highway. Our crew on the scene identified the location as the Circle K gas station.

Once they arrived, officers and fire medics found an adult female, now identified as 49-year-old Natasha McDade, of Montgomery, with a fatal gunshot wound. Natasha McDade was pronounced dead on the scene.

Kawanda McDade is currently in the Montgomery County Detention Facility on no bond.
