Elmore County BOE approves CSFO contract and raise
The Elmore County Board of Education has approved a new contract and raise for its chief schools financial officer.
The board voted 4-3 to extend CSFO Jason Mann’s contract.
The CSFO’s new contract has sparked controversy in the Elmore County community, especially among teachers.
In August, the board approved a raise increase for Mann changing his salary from $118,000 to $138,500.
Under the new contract, Mann will now make $145,000 and then get the 2% education salary raise approved by the Alabama legislature earlier this year. Mann’s new salary will eventually become $147,900.
Mann’s new contract and raise will go into effect on July 1.
