Subcontractor dies at Elmore County prison construction site

A roofing subcontractor with Caddell Construction has died in an accident late yesterday afternoon at a prison construction site in Elmore County.

Officials with Caddell Construction tell Action 8 News that the unidentified man took a fall from the roof where he was working at the Specialized Men’s Prison Facility and later died from his injuries.

Caddell says they are working to collect all of the information and are cooperating fully with all authorities as the investigation unfolds.

Caddell released the following statement regarding the incident:

“We are heartbroken by his passing and mourn with his family, friends and coworkers. Chaplains are ministering to those affected by this great loss. Our hearts and prayers are with the whole team, and we are committed to walking through this tragedy together.”

Officials say the man was a beloved father, coworker and friend, and he will be greatly missed by many who loved him.
