Tallassee man arrested for receiving stolen property in Auburn
Auburn police have arrested a Tallassee man on receiving stolen property.
68-year-old Randall Herbert Griffith has been charged with first degree receiving stolen property.
Auburn PD says the arrest stems from a traffic stop made on a stolen vehicle on June 8 near the 700 block of Martin Luther King Drive.
Officers identified the driver as Griffith and confirmed that the vehicle was reported stolen in another jurisdiction.
The stolen vehicle was recovered and an investigation was initiated regarding the circumstances leading to Griffith having the vehicle.
Griffith was later taken into custody on June 25 without incident.
Griffith is currently in the Lee County Jail on a $5,000 bond.
