A Millbrook man has been arrested following a vehicle pursuit earlier today.

Millbrook Police Chief P.K. Johnson said officers with the Street Crimes Unit initiated a traffic stop on Coosada Parkway, north of Davis Drive.

The officers were attempting to stop an individual wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant for 3rd degree domestic violence charge.

Chief Johnson said the driver of the vehicle refused to stop and after turning onto Davis Drive, he nearly collided with a police vehicle while driving at speeds up to 60 mph.

The chase ended in the 3400 block of Davis Drive, at which point the suspect, identified as 34-year-old Martavius Jackson, attempted to flee on foot. Jackson was quickly taken into custody by responding officers.

Jackson is charged with felony attempting to elude law enforcement, reckless endangerment and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jackson is currently in the Elmore County Jail on a $37,000; however, Chief Johnson said a hold was placed on Jackson with regard to the outstanding arrest warrant for the domestic violence charge.
