ACTION 8 UPDATE: Man arrested in Alexander City murder
ACTION 8 UPDATE: Alexander City police have made an arrest in a fatal shooting at Benson’s Community Center.
As Action 8 News has reported, police were called to the community center on North Central Avenue at around 12:30AM on Sunday, June 9.
They found 19-year-old Jay’z’ion Strong of Goodwater dead of a gunshot wound. Two other people were found at a hospital where they were being treated for non-life threatening gunshot wounds.
Investigators say 18-year-old Latavian Brownfield of Sylacauga, who was previously identified as a victim, was determined to be the shooter responsible for the fatal shooting and the assault of another.
He has been charged with murder and assault.
