Opelika man faces child pornography charges
An Opelika man has been arrested on multiple counts of child pornography possession.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office says 46-year-old Mason Chadwick Morgan was arrested on Tuesday after a search warrant was executed at his home in the 14000 block of Alabama Highway 51. He was released on a $30,000 bond.
The sheriff’s office says on December 22, 2023, investigators received a cyber tip from the Alabama Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce in reference to an individual in Lee County downloading child sexual abuse material.
The sheriff’s office says further investigation revealed Morgan was in possession of additional child sexual abuse material.
Today, he was arrested again and charged with eight counts of possession of child pornography. He is being held in the Lee County Detention Center on a $80,000 bond.
