Selma Mayor James Perkins, Jr., has announced that he has appointed a new interim assistant police chief.

Perkins has announced that Johnathan T. Cole will assume the position on an interim basis. Cole had served as the interim  police chief during the administrative leave of Chief Kenta Fulford.

Cole served as the assistant chief of the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office.

The assistant police chief’s office became vacant when Natasha Fowlkes resigned last week, despite being cleared in a recent investigation.
