Montgomery city councilman makes big donation to the YMCA of Greater Montgomery
The YMCA of Greater Montgomery is getting a big boost thanks to a Montgomery city councilman.
District 7 Councilman Andrew Szymanski has partnered with the YMCA’s Brown Bag Bus program.
Councilman Szymanski’s $20,000 donation will help provide food for kids through the remainder of the summer and during the school year.
The Brown Bag Bus is an initiative that helps combat the effects of childhood hunger in Montgomery. Outfitted with healthy meals, it travels to six under-served neighborhoods to serve lunch to those in need.
These meals are in addition to the 500,000 meals that the YMCA of Greater Montgomery already provides annually to families in need.
