Lowndes Co. man arrested on sex charges involving a minor child

A Lowndes County man is behind bars tonight — facing nearly a dozen sex charges involving a minor child.

Thirty-five year old John Robert Kreder was arrested Thursday morning — after recently being indicted by a grand jury.

Sheriff Chris West says the alleged activities supposedly happened over a three year period. His investigators began looking into the case in February — and recently presented their findings to the grand jury.

“This arrest of Mr. Kreder, I hope it sends a message to people that conduct themselves with this type of activity that no matter where you are, you know we’re going to try and ferret you out, you know and bring you to justice,” West said.

Kreder is being held in the John Hulett Detention Facility on $5.5 million dollars bond.
