Alabama Christian Academy Anglers named Alabama Bass Nation Anglers of the Year

Alabama Christian Academy Anglers Hayes Boyd and Ethen Gardner named Alabama Bass Nation Anglers of the Year. Boyd a rising junior and Gardner a rising senior earned this award by having the most points throughout the high school fishing season.

“We put in the work and our school backed us with all the funds, our parents, my boat captain, just all of them came into play and it’s a very good year,” says  Boyd.

“It’s a very hard thing to do, we’ve been just out of the points for it every single year fishing second or third and it’s just a really big honor to be able to represent ACA and become the AOY for this year,” says Gardner.

In addition to earning Angler of the Year honors, Boyd and Gardner also helped lead the Alabama Christian Academy Fishing Team to their third straight state title and also secured their spot in the Bassmaster High School National Championship for the second consecutive year. Also, the duo took home first place with a weight of 16.71 pounds on Logan Martin. The two also recorded a second place finish on Lake Demopolis (13.38 pounds) and a third place finish on Lay Lake (11.45 pounds.)

Coach Randy Gardner expressed his immense pride in the team’s remarkable achievements, stating, “I couldn’t be more proud of Hayes Boyd and Ethen Gardner and the entire ACA FISHING TEAM. Their dedication, hard work, and exceptional talent have propelled them to the top of the high school angling world.
