A Selma woman is accused of stealing tens of thousands of dollars — from the company she worked for.

Wal Embezzlement0716 VoFifty-eight year old Linda Andrews has been arrested and charged with Theft-of-Property first-degree.

Dallas Co. Sheriff Mike Granthum says Andrews worked as a clerk at the Selma construction company for about two years.

An audit of the company’s records over the last three months — confirmed that over $30,000 dollars was missing.

“You’re looking at 3 or 4 months, $30,000 dollars. So, just think about a year and a half, two years or however long she was employed. It could be in excess of a hundred — two hundred thousand dollars for all we know. You know we’re going to prosecute to the fullest. Somebody was stealing this kind of money from somebody, they need to do some time,” Granthum said.

“And if you steal in Dallas County we’re going to prosecute you to the fullest. I mean, it’s just that simple.”

Granthum says Andrews is free on bail tonight — after posting a $30,000 dollar bond.
