ACTION 8 UPDATE: Arrest made in fatal shooting on Eastern Boulevard in Montgomery
A Montgomery man has been arrested in a fatal shooting that happened on Eastern Boulevard.
Court records show 19-year-old Zephaniah Lowery has been charged with capital murder in the commission of a robbery in the death of 27-year-old Darius Gunn of Montgomery.
As Action 8 News has reported, the shooting happened at around 11:57PM Monday, June 17, in the 1000 block of Eastern Boulevard. That location is between Monticello Drive and East Shirley Lane.
Court records show that the shooting happened at the Chevron gas station.
Gunn had a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead on the scene.
Those records say that witnesses told police on the scene that someone named “Zep” committed the shooting. The witnesses said that “Zep” advised he was going to rob Gunn of his iPhone and shoot him because he was present during his sister’s stabbing, records show.
Montgomery police say Lowery is being held without bond.
