Tuskegee police chief, assistant chief removed from office

Both the police chief and assistant police chief in Tuskegee have been removed from their positions by the mayor.

Tuskegee Mayor Tony Haygood told Action 8 News this morning that Police Chief Jennifer Jordan and Assistant Police Chief Michael Provo are no longer affiliated with the city.

Haygood said it is due to a lack of communication and his lack of confidence in the direction of the department.

Patrick Mardis, the former police chief at Tuskegee University, will serve as acting police chief.

Action 8 News is working to get reaction to this decision.
