Juvenile arrested in murder of Montgomery County man

23murderDeputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office are investigating homicide in South Montgomery county.

Assistant Chief Deputy Wesley Richerson tells Action 8 News that around 2:30 a.m. Friday, deputies responded to a home in the 6000 block of West Hickory Grove Road in regards to a shooting.

Once they arrived, they found 79-year-old Rueben Squire dead from a gunshot wound.

Following investigative leads, investigators, with the assistance of SWAT and the Montgomery Police Department, located the suspect, an unidentified juvenile. The suspect was taken into custody and charged with murder.

Richerson did not disclose the relationship of the suspect and victim, but said the victim and the juvenile know each other.
