Rain chances decrease as the calendar turns from July to August

Showers and storms were scattered to numerous across our area Sunday. Some of us received rain prior to midday, with more rain and storms during the afternoon. Some showers and storms lingered into Sunday evening, still producing heavy rain and frequent lightning in Butler county through 10PM. Rain and storms gradually taper off Sunday night. The sky becomes partly cloudy, with lows in the low to mid 70s.

Monday’s weather looks very similar to the weekend. Showers and storms become scattered to numerous during the afternoon. That benefits us, by cooling temperatures. However, highs likely range from the low to mid 90s Monday. Storms become scattered Tuesday and Wednesday. However, rain coverage may only be isolated to widely scattered late this week, as August begins. The rain chance may remain lower next weekend.
