Downtown facade enhancement grants available in Selma

Downtown revitalization continues to be a major focus in the city of Selma.

Now there’s a grant available — to give some downtown businesses — a face-lift.

The Selma Redevelopment Authority is offering facade enhancement grants for downtown businesses.

City officials say improving the look of the downtown area — could draw more business downtown.

“And so improving these buildings making them look the way they should is a major improvement, not just in the downtown economy, but the whole economy of the city. Because we know if we get those individuals to come to spend, that the entire city benefits,” said City Council President Billy Young.
