8 ON YOUR SIDE CONSUMER ALERT: Hyundai recalls Montgomery-built Santa Fe models
8 ON YOUR SIDE CONSUMER ALERT: Hyundai is recalling nearly 50,000 2024 Santa Fe models that were built in Montgomery.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says certain Santa Fe and Santa Fe HEV vehicles have a main floor wiring harness that may chafe against the passenger-side second-row bench seat assembly and become damaged.
That can cause the air bags to deploy unintentionally or prevent the air bags from deploying in a crash. Either situation can increase the risk of injury.
The NHTSA says dealers will inspect and repair, or replace the wiring harness as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 23, 2024. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai’s number for this recall is 265.
The Santa Fe is one of several models that are built at the Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama (HMMA) assembly plant in Montgomery.
