Hot, mainly dry weather continues for now; Rain chances next week

Very hot and dry weather continued Saturday across central and south Alabama. While temperatures soared into the mid 90s in several locations, heat indices were generally near or below 100° during the afternoon. Thanks to less-humid air in place, temperatures cool considerably Saturday night. Some locations may fall into the upper 60s, but low 70s otherwise with a clear sky.

Sunday looks hot and dry again, with high temperatures in the mid 90s and a sunny sky. Sunday night lows may fall into the upper 60s. Afternoon heat may increase Monday and Tuesday. High temperatures may approach 100° Tuesday. Humidity increases Wednesday. Rain chances may also return starting Wednesday, and continue through next weekend.
