Hot, dry weather through Tuesday; Rain chances return this week
It was a pleasant weekend weather-wise across central and south Alabama. Sure, it was hot, but humidity was lower, especially Sunday. Heat indices generally remained below 100° each afternoon, despite high temperatures in the mid 90s in several locations Saturday and Sunday. Sunshine was abundant, with no rain. Our weather remains pleasant Sunday night, with a clear sky and lows in the upper 60s.
Hot and dry weather continues early this week. Temperatures may trend higher Monday and Tuesday. High temperatures may reach the upper 90s Monday, and approach 100° Tuesday. Humidity increases Wednesday, which may lead to isolated afternoon showers or storms. However, rain coverage remains very low through Thursday. Rain coverage may increase Friday and next weekend. Meanwhile, high temperatures remain in the mid 90s.
