Showers And T-storms Returning To The Area
Moisture is gradually increasing across the area and that’s going help fuel those scattered afternoon showers and t-storms going into the latter half of the work week. Temps will still manage lower to mid 90s for afternoon highs. Another frontal system will move into the state during the weekend. This system will continue to increase the chance for more rain activity both Saturday and Sunday.
In the meantime, we finish out the work week with mainly isolated showers or t-storms. Temps still manage the mid 90s for afternoon highs.  Since moisture will be on the increase, heat indices will climb back above 100 to 105. Once again, it will feel hot and humid but fortunately those random showers or storms will knock the heat down in spots.
We head into the weekend with a frontal boundary moving into the deep south. This boundary will help generate more widespread coverage of showers and t-storms. These will be mainly during the afternoon and evening hours.  Be aware that some storms could pack a punch and your outdoor plans could be interrupted at times. Temps will manage lower to mid 90s for highs and heat indices will climb above 100 degrees again.
Down in the tropics we’re tracking Hurricane Ernesto located over the Northern Caribbean. The storm is forecast to become a major hurricane by Friday. It looks like the hurricane will stay east of the Bahamas as it makes a track west and northward. All indications are the tropical system will turn north and then northeast and not be a threat to the U. S. east coast. Bermuda is in the crosshairs and may be impacted over the upcoming weekend.
