Autaugaville man dies in two-vehicle crash

A two-vehicle crash in Autauga County has claimed the life of an Autaugaville man.

State troopers tell Action 8 News that the accident happened on Alabama 14 near the 144 mile marker, approximately five miles west of Prattville.

ALEA says 33-year-old Karlos D. Golson, Jr. was fatally injured when the 2000 Ford Ranger pickup he was driving collided head-on with a 2022 Peterbilt commercial fuel truck. Golson was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead on the scene.

Troopers say as a result of the collision, the commercial fuel truck caught on fire and became totally engulfed in flames. However, the drive of the truck was able to safely exit and was injured.
