The governor’s Back to School Tour — made a stop in Wilcox County at ABC Elementary School on Tuesday.
Ivey visited several classrooms — and encouraged students to read a book every single day.
“My mission is to encourage our students to read and read a lot. Trying to understand that if they learn to read, they can read to learn. And that’s so important here at school to be able to learn and read well,” she said.
Ivey also visited students at J. E. Hobbs Elementary School in Camden.
