Phenix City man killed in Alexander City fork lift accident

Alexander City police are investigating an accident that left a Phenix City man dead.

Sgt. Drew Machen tells Action 8 News that around 3:44 p.m. on Wednesday, officers were called to the 900 block of Muscogee Road in regards to an accident involving a fork lift.

Once they arrived, they found 53-year-old Mickey Delane Etheridge dead on the scene.

Investigators say while Etheridge was delivering materials to a home that was currently under construction, the lift he had been using slid off an embankment resulting in his death.

The case remains under investigation.
