Mainly sunny, mainly dry, reasonable heat Friday and this weekend

Friday’s weather looks about as pleasant as possible in late August across central and south Alabama. Morning lows were in the mid to upper 60s in most locations. Sunshine was abundant throughout the morning, and Friday afternoon likely remains near-cloudless. Friday remains breezy, with an east wind of 10 to 15 mph. High temperatures range from the upper 80s to low 90s with lows humidity.

Friday night looks mainly clear and mild with lows in the mid to upper 60s. Friday evening’s weather looks excellent for the first week of high school football too. The weekend looks fairly pleasant. Winds remain out of the east, but may not be quite as strong as Friday. Saturday and Sunday look mostly sunny and mainly dry. However, a brief stray shower may form Saturday or Sunday afternoon.

Afternoon temperatures peak in the low 90s Saturday and low to mid 90s Sunday. Our area remains mainly dry through Wednesday next week. The rain chance increases slightly late next week. More notably, temperatures increase next week. By Tuesday, afternoon temperatures likely peak in the upper 90s. High temperatures likely reach the upper 90s each day through Friday too.
