New first run movies now showing at Walton Theater in Selma
From the West Alabama Newsroom–
We have some good news tonight for movie lovers in the Selma area. The Queen City’s only movie theater — is once again open for business.
Walton Theater Selma resumes showing — new first-run movies — this weekend.
The movie “The Forge,” from the creators of the movies — “War Room” and “Courageous” — is now playing at the theater.
The movies — “Musafa, the Lion King” — and “Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice” — are coming soon.
The theater closed for about a year — to have roof damage caused by the January 12th tornado — repaired.
“The Walton Theater is back open showing first-run movies,” said theater operator Pastor John Grayson.
“We are 9 years and still standing strong. Walton Theater have endured the storms, we endured COVID, the January 12th storm of ’23. And we’re back open again, and we want to welcome all of our customers from the community back to the Walton Theater.”
The Walton Theater Selma is located in downtown Selma — at 1000 Selma Avenue.
