Life of Caden Tellier remembered at Morgan Academy
Students and everyone at Morgan Academy in Selma took time Monday to remember their friend and quarterback Caden Tellier at a memorial service on campus.
They wore the school colors of maroon and gold as they gathered to pray inside the gym. Members of Caden’s family were there and sat in the first row of the memorial service.
Caden’s father Jamie Tellier said, “My son was an exceptional athlete. But the thing he loved the most was to talk about Jesus.”
Outside, flowers, balloons with his 17 jersey number, and notes were placed in the student parking lot in remembrance of him.
Caden suffered a brain injury during a routine play during Friday night’s season-opening game against Southern Academy of Greensboro. He died Saturday at a Birmingham hospital.
Caden was a 16-year-old junior and was an organ donor.
We chose not to send a camera crew to the school out of respect for the family and others who want to remember Caden in private.
